Drifting Snow

21st March 2017

It snowed down to most levels along with some heavy hail showers. The strong Westerly winds were scouring and drifting snow creating some deep drifts in sheltered locations.

Strong winds and  drifting the snow first thing this morning.

When the winds abate there will be snow sports on Glen Coe mountain.

Note the drifts in the lee of this machine.

Weakly bonded snow layers which were cracking under foot.

White out conditions – the A82 road to Glasgow can just been made out starting left hand corner.

Again on the A82 – tale tale signs in the horizontal flag!

Red deer @ 300 metres.

Buachaille Etive Mor during a brighter spell.

Looking towards Meall a Bhuiridh and Sron a Creise.

Looking at Buachaille Etive Beag and the sisters of Glen Coe.
