Wonderful day!

25th March 2017

It was a fine day in Glen Coe and with the good forecast many were taking advantage of the good conditions.  It’d been a cold night but it soon warmed up in the sun.  The snow is concentrated on the higher North to East aspects and from the tops the views were magnificent in all directions.

Ben Nevis, Carn Mor Dearg and the Aonachs form the skyline looking North from Meall a Bhuiridh.

Despite the warm air temperature the snowpack was cold enough to exhibit cracking underfoot.

Looking East toward the Bridge of Orchy hills – the railway line to Fort William may just be seen above the near ridge.

There are still some soft ‘drooping’ cornices above the East aspects of the Creise/Clach Leathad ridge.
