Mild conditions and Avalanches

23rd January 2015

Today, the gradual thaw became more aggressive as the day progressed with rain at summit level. Avalanche activity was reported today on Buachaille Etive Mor – thanks to Ken Applegate for reporting this to the SAIS and bring it to our attention. The visibility was so poor today it was difficult to see into the Corries.

At 2.15pm the sun dared to come out, but only for 3 minutes, it started raining again soon after this photo was taken.
