Alpine day

27th March 2017

Another beautiful day in Glen Coe.  The buttresses in Coire an Lochan are bare but Broad Gully is still complete and well travelled.  Though most of the cornices are down, there are still some East facing ones still to go.  Some evidence of stonefall below the crags.

Winter climbing seems a rather distant memory looking at the Coire nan Lochan cliffs.

A week old headwall from a slide on the flank of Dorsal Arete, above Broad Gully

Diamond and Church Door buttresses on Bidean nam Bian.

An impending cornice on the East facing aspect of Coire nan Lochan, dripping heavily!
