A Beautiful Day

19th March 2018

Another tough day at the office!  A couple of con-trails were the only blemish across an otherwise azure blue sky (and it’s not often you get to say that in Glen Coe).  Generally a firm snowpack with an icy sun-glaze in places.  There are areas of soft windslab in sheltered pockets.  The consequences of a slip are serious.

Good snow cover on Buachaille Etive Beag

Sunlight highlights the patterning on areas from which snow has been redistributed

Good example of raised footprints caused by the removal of surrounding unconsolidated snow by the wind

Fabulous mountain vistas in the clear conditions

Spot the team of four mountaineers

Great views to the South
