7th April 2019

Milder conditions today with the freezing level just above the summits. A cloudy day and albeit dry it felt damp in the hill fog above 500 metres. Winds were light to moderate from the North-Easterly direction. The surface layer of the snowpack is moist but stability remains generally good on all aspects and elevations.
Cornices are soft and prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Low.

A blanket of cloud hugged the mountains throughout the day
