Good weather to end the year

31st December 2019

It was a dry sunny day with light winds. The snowpack is patchy after the recent warm conditions but the surface has now frozen hard. There was a dusting of fresh snow yesterday above about 1000 metres. Lots of people were out enjoying the good weather before unsettled conditions return tomorrow.

Sledging was popular today. This is mostly snow factory snow. The white blur in the top left of the picture is the snow coming out the pipe.
