Winter returns

8th January 2020

The freezing level lowered to around 650 metres in the early hours of this morning and light snow showers fell mainly above 500 metres. The old moist snowpack is frozen and stable, new snow amounts are mostly thin generally a dusting above 500 metres with slightly more build up in sheltered locations. A brighter day than of late, squally wind were strong from the South-Westerly direction.
