Another glorious day…

19th December 2021

Another lovely, calm, sunny day with the freezing level above the highest summits, cooler at lower elevations due to the inversion conditions. A cold, frosty start to the day and again verglas on many approach paths.

Southerly aspect of Buachaille Etive Mor.

Looking into Stob Coire nam Beith this morning with snow patches on the west summit of Bidean.

Looking at Clach Leathad and Meall a’ Bhuiridh the south and easterly aspects.

Rannoch Moor with the top of Schiehallin just seen in the far distance.

Approaching Glen Coe, Stob Dearg on the left and the Aonach Eagach on the right.

Avalanche forecast: The snowpack will re-freeze and remain well bonded in most locations often icy or a re-frozen crust. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
