Becoming .cloudy through the morning

18th January 2022

Clear conditions overnight gave a frost at all levels. Cloudy conditions developed and lowered through the morning reducing visibility. The snowpack is mainly in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries. The snow surface is firm and icy giving some serious consequences in the event of an uncontrolled slip. Stability is generally good but some isolated pockets of windslab may form overnight mainly in sheltered gully exits and corrie rims. These areas are not expected to be deep or extensive and should in the main be avoidable.

Becoming colder with strong to gale force winds and light occasional sleet/snow.
