Mild and drizzle

13th January 2022

Today was mild, with moderate Westerly winds and near constant drizzle. The snowpack was therefore wet and thawing in all locations. The remaining snow is diminishing and becoming increasingly patchy with greatest accumulations remaining on North to East aspects above 850 metres. It will remain mild and continue to thaw tomorrow with colder temperatures forecast for Saturday.

The remaining snow in the area below the summit of Stob Coire nan Lochan

The cliffs of Stob Coire nan Lochan looking very black with only the gully lines holding much snow.

Water levels are high as the snow melts. The peak of Stob Coire nan Lochan just visible in the background with snow on its summit slopes and gullies. Very limited snow at lower elevations.
