Sunshine and snow showers

9th February 2022

Strong West-South-West winds and occasional heavy snow showers today with the odd bit of blue sky and sunshine too. The older wet snowpack has frozen hard in the colder temperatures and is stable. Instabilities are present in fresh windslab accumulations. These are localised and mainly in gullies around corrie rims and along ridge flanks on North through East to South-East aspects.

Further snow showers forecast for tonight and tomorrow so expect an increase in depth and distribution of unstable windslab.
