Heavy Snow Showers.

16th December 2022

Overnight, light snow showers fell to all levels these snow showers intensified during the course the morning then later in the afternoon became more sporadic. It was also slightly milder than of late summit temperatures around minus three degrees celsius. Winds were South-Westerly and generally moderate and visibility was very poor.

Avalanche report for 17th December: Moderately bonded windslab will continue to develop on steep, mainly North-West to North-Easterly aspects above 850 metres. There may also be some cross-loading on steep sheltered West and East facing gully flanks and gully exits. Soft cornices forming above many of these locations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Visibility was poor at all levels.

Stob Dearg and Coire na Tulaich – Buachaille Etive Mor.

A82 road at 300 metres elevation.
