Beautiful Spring Day

27th March 2023

A spring like day, warm lower down, dry and sunny but with cold light North-Easterly winds higher up.

An overnight dusting of light snow looking slightly more wintery with the remaining old snowpack, North to East aspects above 900 metres, which were frozen and stable. Very little elsewhere.

All change tomorrow with snow turning to rain, and milder conditions into Wednesday and Thursday.

The main snowy aspects on Stob Coire nan Lochan reflecting the bright sunshine this morning.

Clear views across to Bidean nam Bian (centre) from Buachaille Etive Beag.

The cosmetic dusting of new snow with limited old patches, Stob Dubh (Buchaille Etive Beag). Loch Etive in the background.

Looking down on the Buchaille Etive Beag ridge (902m contour), showing the differences between NW, NE and SW aspects.

The smallest of ribbons remaining on the Aonach Eagach.
