Cloudy and Damp

20th March 2023

A cloudy day with drizzle and rain during the afternoon. Light to moderate Southerly winds with the freezing level above the summits.

A thawing snowpack at all elevations, wet and generally stable. Small accumulations of wet snow fell overnight up high, lying on bare ground this has all but melted, with accumulations on the firmer old snowpack continuing to soften and thaw.

An uninspiring damp day with thawing snowpack. NE aspects Meall a Bhuiridh.

Winter conditions flowing down the hillside at 850 metres.

Locals foot prints left in the soft thawing overnight snow.

Very limited snow to be seen, especially with the lower cloud bases. Stob Coire nam Beith.
