A gloomy Glen Coe.

23rd December 2023

It was a mild and wet day in Glen Coe today. The thick cloud combined with the fact that the sun does not get very high in the sky (just under ten degrees above the horizon at midday) at this time of year, meant it was dark and gloomy throughout the day. With summit temperature of around plus four degrees Celsius and constant rain meant the the dusting of snow which fell at higher levels yesterday is now all but gone.  Hopefully turning a bit colder over the next few days.

Plenty of water in Loch Achtriochtan

A gloomy and snowless Buachaille Etive Mor.

Lots of water running of the hills. Fair to say my feet did not stay dry today!

Meall a Bhuridh disappearing into the mist.
