A dusting of fresh snow

4th April 2024

It was a dry day with light North-Easterly winds. Cloudy on the summits much of the time with some clear spells. A dusting of snow overnight gave some very localised windslab accumulations in sheltered locations.

Photos below showing conditions on some of the Glencoe mountains.

Cloud on Meall a’ Bhuiridh while I was there. This was what I could see looking towards Creise.

Looking North-West from Meall a’ Bhuiridh. Snow forecast for tonight will lead to fresh accumulations of windslab mainly on South-West to North-West aspects. South-West aspects currently don’t have much snow but North-West aspects such as this have enough to give a good sliding surface.

There’s still lift served skiing in Glencoe but only the upper runs are complete.
