Dry, settled and almost snowless.

19th January 2025

It was another dry and settled but cloudy day in Glen Coe today. A few small patches of snow remain tucked away in higher gullies and cories. I took a walk up Beinn a’Chrulaiste, a nice wee hill opposite the Buachaille. This gives some nice views, and due to the grassy nature of the terrain gives for some quite nice walking conditions (although there are a few patches of bog to be avoided). No significant snow is expected over the next few days, but it is expected to turn a bit colder.

The River Coupall this morning. There was a bit of cloud about, but it was generally quite thin.

Beinn a’Chrulaiste. A nice wee hill that offers some great views, and one which is popular with photographers. I met a team of photographers up there this morning, they had hoped for a cloud inversion (which never appeared), but said that they had still managed to get some decent shots.

Looking over to Buachaille Etive Mor. Although not visible in this picture, there were still a few tiny patches of snow tucked away in the likes of Crowberry Gully.

Looking back down the Glen.

The view from the summit, the cloud was coming in!

Less than five minutes after the previous shot was taken, there was not much to see.

On the way back down having dropped below the cloud level some sunny patches were visible to the North.
