Slightly milder…..

12th January 2025

After a chilly night today turned out slightly milder than the past week. The freezing level rose to around 1200 metres by midday. It was a dry day with fresh South-Westerly winds. Even though the freezing level rose to just above the higher summits there is still an abundance to ice clinging to the hills sides and on many approach paths and the existing snow cover is only just thawing. Tomorrow looks like it will be mostly cloudy with patchy rain developing overnight. The rain may become heavier during Monday morning but then getting lighter with clear spell possible in the afternoon. A windy and much milder 24 hours although frozen surfaces will take time to thaw out.

Icy areas at low elevations.

Icy approach paths are still present.

Thin snow cover at 300 metres.
