Aonach Eagach

28th February 2025

Today’s observations were from Am Bodach at the Eastern end of the Aonach Eagach Ridge. Todays photo shows the Northern side which has a lot more snow than the Southern side in yesterdays blog. Snow showers early this morning gave a superficial covering of fresh snow above around 700 metres, before clearing to give a dry but cloudy day. Clouds cleared enough to give some good views and photo opportunities. Overnight precipitation will be rain at most levels initially gradually turning to snow above around 900 metres before clearing to give another dry day. There is some uncertainty about total snow amounts.

Looking along the Aonach Eagach ridge from Am Bodach. Significantly more snow on the North side than the South side, yesterday’s blog shows the South side as a comparison.
