Aonach Eagach

14th February 2025

It was another cold dry day with a fresh South-Easterly wind. There was some cloud at summit level at times.

The cold temperatures are leading to facets developing in the snowpack. These are not a great hazard at the moment as there is only a thin crust above them.

Yesterday’s blog had a photo of the South side of the Aonach Eagach which is lacking in snow. The North side is snowier. The first 3 photos below show some of the snowier parts of the Aonach Eagach followed by 2 showing the almost bare South side.

Looking West from Am Bodach.

More snow on the North (right) side of the Aonach Eagach then the sunnier South side.
