Exceptionally wet and mild….

Today the freezing level was well above the summits and it was exceptionally wet with persistent rain falling at all levels. These conditions were accompanied by very strong to gale force Southerly winds with gusts over 70mph

Stob Dearg and Coire na Tulaich ~ Buachaille Etive Mor from Altnafeadh.

North-Easterly aspect of Stob Dearg very little snow remains but plenty of rain water running off the hillsides.

Gearr Aonach with large amounts of rain fall and snow melt coming out of Stob Coire nan Lochan on the right.

the Southerly aspect of the Aonach Eagach ridge.

Northerly aspect of Aonach Dubh.

Looking into Stob Coire nam Beith.

Poor visibility and rain affected all the area today this taken on Meall a’ Bhuiridh at around 700 metres.

    Not been much of a winter this year but SAIS details are essential viewing for those of us who venture out every weekend. I have learnt a lot from the SAIS postings and it helps so much with safety, planning and risk management. Thank you for your work each winter.
