Glimpses

7th March 2025

A mild and bright day though the summits remained stubbornly cloud covered until late morning, little or no wind to blow the clouds away. The temperature at 700 metres about 5c. Hoping for higher views across to Northern aspects, frustratingly only glimpses of summits and patchy snow could be seen until back down at glen level later. Very spring like in the glen, feeling warm with sunny spells, though clouding over with light rain later in the afternoon.

Rain overnight then dry again tomorrow, mild conditions will continue to thaw and diminish what little snow remains. Colder conditions from Sunday expected.

Clouds around the West face of Aonach Dubh defining it’s three dimensional detail, only the odd snow patch visible.

Glimpses up to the summit of Stob Coire nan Lochan.

Limited patchy snow on the Northern aspects of Stob Coire Altruim, Buachaille Etive Mor.

The ridges of the Three Sisters, Stob Coire nan Lochan high at the back.

Clearer views along Beinn Fhada, Stob Coire Sgreamach at the back.

Closer view of the remaining snow in Coire nan Lochan.

Towards Church Door Buttress past Stob Coire nam Beith.
