Most of the Few

8th March 2025

With the overnight rain clearing and some initial summit views whilst heading through the Glen, an expectant walk up the Allt Lairig Eilde for closer views of the distant summits and ridges finished at the col with lingering summit cloud having reformed and obscuring most of the few remaining snow patches. Light South-Easterly winds slightly cooling the mild conditions, but given the 9c at 500 metres, the snow patches continuing to thaw and subtly diminish.

Mild overnight and through the day, Sunday night into Monday it turns colder with the freezing level around 500 metres.

Early views into Coire nam Beith.

Stob Coire nan Lochan, very limited snow patches high in the corrie and gullies.

Sron na Lairig, “…the prominent ridge…with a remote, alpine ambience…”, with Stob Coire Sgreamhach obscured from view.

Beinn Ceitlein and Stob Dubh on the Southside of Glen Etive.

Isolated remaining snow patches in Coire Dubh below Stob Dubh.

Sron a Creise at the top of Glen Etive.
