Dry, cold and settled.

9th January 2026

Cold and dry conditions continue to affect the area, many paths and watercourses are frozen particularly at lower levels. Localised areas of windslab exist mainly above 900 metres with gully exits and corrie rims in particular being affected.

Snow showers are forecast overnight and later on Saturday but amounts are not expected to be great.

Cold conditions are maintaining weaknesses within deeper accumulations of windslab. This example was at 900 metres on an Easterly aspect. Generally these areas are of a localised nature, check the report for more details.
