Not much change

3rd February 2026

The South-Easterly weather pattern continues with strong winds and poor visibility. The snowpack continues to consolidate and is either firm and icy or has a breakable crust, the snow surface also has a thick layer of rime in many places as do most surfaces above around 500 metres.

Similar conditions are forecast tomorrow, any new snow deposits are not expected to be significant.

Rime on grass at around 700 metres, this has grown rapidly as the freezing level fell overnight, there was no rime here yesterday.

The snow line fell to around 500 metres, although the white is as much rime on grass and heather as the very small amount of new snow.
