Strong scouring South-Easterly winds….

18th February 2026

Last night the winds became South-Easterly and strengthened to near gale force particularly over the higher summits. It has remained quite cold, the freezing level was around 400 metres and it was a dry day but completely different to yesterday’s glorious conditions. Some avalanche activity was noted today.
