A soggy affair….
24th March 2026
Last night a heavy thaw affected the area with rain at all levels plus summit temperatures at around plus 3 degrees celsius accompanied by very strong South-Westerly winds that’s ‘the soggy affair’.
This morning was slightly drier and cooler with a dusting of summit snow. Precipitation increased as the day progressed with some more snow mainly above 950 metres these deposits were not deep or extensive. Midday summit temperature was around minus one degrees celsius and the South-Westerly winds intensified.
Northerly aspects of Meall a’ Bhuiridh – note the creeping glide cracks starting to appear centre right on the photo.
