Snow falls to lower levels on Easter Saturday.
4th April 2026
The overnight freezing level lowered to 350 metres and snow fell to lower levels to around 300 metres. At daybreak it was a lovely clear morning but these conditions didn’t last long and clouds quickly covered the summits. The freezing level has slowly risen through the morning but midday summit temperatures were still around minus 4 degrees celsius and the freezing level continues to slowly rise. The Southerly winds were generally moderate in strength with isolated snow showers falling mainly above 550 metres.
The sunrise at the top end of Glencoe this morning with Creag Dhubh on the left, Stob Dearg to its right and the Aonach Eagach ridge in the distance.
Spot the rescue helicopter – Stob Mhic Mhartuin just to its right with the black cliff near its summit.
Looking into Stob Coire nan Lochan its summit obscured by the clouds, Gearr Aonach on the left and Aonach Dubh on the right.
