Overnight light snow, drier today.

9th April 2024

Snow showers affected slopes mainly above 900 metres overnight becoming drier today. The freezing level has now risen above the summits.

Outlook for Wednesday:- after a cool night becoming progressively very mild, wet and windy. Mainly surface wet snow instabilities will develop on steep slopes. Any remaining cornices will be prone to collapse.  Check the Avalanche Report for more details.

Stob Coire nan Lochan.

Meall a Bhuiridh light cover of overnight snow.

Light surface debris Easterly aspect from 950 metres Meall a Bhuiridh.

Clach Leathad cornices still present. All remaining cornices will become unstable as mild and wet conditions affect the area tomorrow.

Glencoe Mountain Ski Area snow factory and sledging slope still open, lift assisted skiing is now finished for the season.
