Light snow and cold South-Easterly winds.

26th January 2026

Light snow and cold South-Easterly winds affected the area today. Much of the snowpack has been scoured by the recent strong winds leaving a firm and icy surface. Drifting onto Westerly and Northerly aspects continues to form moderately bonded areas of windslab in sheltered gullies and hollows, fragile cornices are also forming.

Stormy outlook for tomorrow with new snow and very strong winds forecast, see the report for more details.
