Brighter

9th February 2026

Brighter today with only an isolated shower or two, falling as snow at higher elevations. Better views but with the highest summits still remaining mostly cloud covered. Light to moderate southerly winds. The snowpack is soft and moist at all elevations with generally good stability, some fresh wet snow from overnight showers above 900 metres. At lower elevations thre snowpack is noticeably thawing and diminishing.

The freezing level remains around 1000m with rain and some further snow up high. Winds, moderate to fresh from the East.

Brighter with blue skies first thing over Aonach Dubh, persistent cloud lingering around the high summits, here over Coire Beith and the highest summit of Bidean na Bian.

A bright and sunny Aonach Eagach Ridge this morning, with limited snow on southerly aspects.

Cloud just above the summit of Stob Coire nan Lochan. A distinct overnight snowline on the central buttress rocks.

A couple of centimetres of moist new snow on the high summits, here on Meall a Bhuiridh falling on heavily rimed boulders.

Stob Dearg, Buchaille Etive Mor, higher elevations of Curved Ridge and Crowberry Ridge (centre) catching some fresh overnight snow.

Coire Tulaich ascent/descent, trodden path lines clearly visible in the soft and moist snowpack.
