Calm and sunny.
2nd April 2026
Calm and sunny conditions today made a fine change from the rain and wind of late. Clear conditions overnight gave a frost to all levels, the snowpack became firm and icy in places with potential for serious outcomes onto rocks in the event of a slip or fall. Snow is expected this evening with a brief thaw to all levels through the night when rain and sleet will affect the highest slopes. A return to colder conditions with snow showers throughout the day will accumulate as unstable windslab in sheltered gullies and slopes, bonding will be poor particularly where old re frozen snow exists, fresh cornices will be fragile.
See report for more details.
