Strong Winds and poor Visibility

15th February 2018

Today the winds were South-Westerly and  nearly as strong as yesterday with snow showers falling to just below 300 metres. Lots of drifting into sheltered locations particularly at higher elevations . The odd area is still wind scoured and firm and icy.

Buachaille Etive Mor in the mist and clouds.

Typical view from todays outing…… looking South from around 600 metres the A82 is down there

SAIS forecaster out and about in the strong winds which scowling mainly from the South-Westerly direction

Yep, graupel in the face at 40mph often results in significant scowling. However, it did mean my face was properly “exfoliated” by the time I got back to the car 😉
