Another great day.

19th March 2025

Cold and frosty overnight conditions gave way to another sunny day after early morning mist in the glen burnt off Warming occurred in sun affected areas but shaded areas remained distinctly cool maintaining a firm and sometimes icy surface on the remaining snow.

Only limited snow cover remains as patches in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries and gullies. The stubborn old snow patches will remain firm and possibly icy in the more sheltered gullies and hollows on Thursday. Icy patches will also exist on higher paths, rocks and watercourses. In most cases these areas are avoidable but uncontrolled slips at present have some fairly serious run outs onto exposed rocks.
