It can’t get much wetter
21st February 2020
Driving heavy rain and gale force South-Westerly winds, not a day for lingering! The snowpack is saturated, full of rain water and rapidly thawing and disappearing at lower levels. Compare these photos to yesterdays blog.
The river Coupall has burst its banks makes getting to Jacksonville hazardous with Stob Dearg slopes thawing fast.
Rain and snow melt pouring off the Southerly aspect of the Aonach Eagach ridge.
Looking into Stob Coire nam Beith.
North face of Aonach Dubh.
Waterfall at the ‘study’ at the meeting of the 3 waters with Buachaille Etive Mor behind.
Some folks bracing the wind and rain heading into Lairig Eilde.
Stob Deag and Coire na Tulaich at Altnafeadh.
Glencoe was covered with localised flooding.
At times I was looking for one of these today!
