Rivers levels remain high

31st December 2024

Today was similar to yesterday with rain at all levels. River levels remained high and many were impossible to cross. Hopefully tomorrows photos will look whiter as snow is forecast above 1000 metres overnight and above 400 metres in the morning. Total snow amounts are not expected to be significant in the Glencoe area with a thin covering of new snow lying on bare ground. It is forecast to be significantly colder for the next few days.

Looking to the head of Coire Gabhail (the hidden valley) with Stob Coire Sgreamhach on the left and the ridge towards the summit of Bidean nam Biam on the right.

One of the usual crossings of the Allt Coire Gabhail was not possible today.

Looking towards A’ Chailleach from the hidden valley. Lots of extra streams and waterfalls that you wouldn’t normally see.

Looking up the Allt Coire nam Beithach towards Stob Coire nam Beith.
