Dry but a cold Easterly wind….

9th February 2025

Today was an almost an identical repeat of yesterday, started with a frost in the glens with a bit of an inversion in the morning over some summits which cleared as the day progressed. Winds were Easterly with a cold bite to them. The freezing level was around 600 metres.

Also this same day 278 years ago on the 9th February Lord Lovat was the last man to beheaded in Scotland for his participation in the Jacobite rising of 1745 (the ’45) against the Crown and was sentenced to death in the Tower of London.
