Remaining cold

7th February 2025

It was a cold day which started with a temperature inversion with low level cloud and clear mountains. During the day there was cloud coming and going at different altitudes, but also plenty of sunshine.

There has been little change in the snowpack. Older snow is frozen and firm. The more recent windslab contains some persisting weaknesses and is covered with a breakable crust in most locations.

Brocken Spectre from Meall a’ Bhuiridh.

Not much snow on the South side of Meall a’ Bhuiridh. There was enough for some skiing on the North side.
