Rapidly changing weather and conditions.

8th January 2015

Conditions on the hill felt very different to those experienced yesterday. It was a colder day with snow showers through the day. The old snowpack has refrozen, with some build up of fresh through the day. Weather and snowpack conditions likely to continue to vary rapidly  over the next few days.

The physics of snow is complicated (to say the least). I saw this good example of the plastic deformation of wet snow back down at the carpark.
