What a Difference a Day Makes.

13th March 2015

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was a contender for my least pleasant day on the hill this winter. Sunshine, light winds and some fresh snow made today a contender for the most pleasant day on the hill this winter.  There was some fresh snow overnight. Where this has accumulated to any depth this snow is quite unstable, there were a few small natural avalanches which released in core rims. However, the fresh deposits do tend to be shallow.

In a lot of areas the fresh snow is quite shallow, You can see that these tracks have scraped the fresh snow off and are down to the hard underlying icy snowpack
