A good start to 2017!

1st January 2017

What a difference 24 hours makes!  Dry, much less windy and firm snow to crampon about on.  Snow cover is sparce as the pictures show but it was a real pleasure to be out after the rigours of the weather on Hogmanay.

The Coire nan Lochan cliffs

Looking East to the broad head of Stob Dearg – little snow to be seen.

The slightest dusting of fresh snow lying in Coire nan Lochan

Across Glen Coe the South flank of Am Bodach in the sun

A fresh landslip over the Coire nan Lochan path – testament to the amount of rain we’ve had!
