Cloud inversion – nearly!

19th January 2017

A cooler misty day, the sun trying to break through on the summit of Meall a Bhuiridh but not quite getting there.  I kept looking out for a ‘Brocken Spectre’ but the cloud was too diffuse.  The snowpack on the summit has firmed up due to refreezing and is noticeably drier than yesterday.  Meall a Bhuiridh still has some sizeable patches of snow along the lines of the “Spring Run’ and ‘Flypaper’ ski runs – not for nothing did the old ‘skisters’ come here before there was any mechanical uplift or snow fencing.
