A fine wintry day

9th February 2017

A fine wintry day with the snow down to 500 metres.  The disposition of the snow is very patchy so there are deep drifts in places, scouring in others, making progress quite slow.  Happy to pick up some fox tracks on Meall a Bhuiridh which kept me out of the worst of the drifts.

The whiteness of Meall a Bhuiridh belies the patchy nature of the snow cover.

Cracking caused by footfall very evident today

My benefactors tracks – the foxes raised tracks preserved while the surrounding snow was blown away and redistributed elsewhere
