Cloud inversion

28th March 2017

While the West end of Glen Coe was bathed in sunshine up at the East end there was more cloud about over Meall a Bhuiridh and it looked less promising for the day.

A strange light over Meall a Bhuiridh, the sun fluting through the cloud. Little snow left on the lower slopes.

After walking up through the chilly cloud layer there were terrific views to be seen – here Ben Nevis, Carn Mor Dearg and the Aonachs.

From the summit of Meall a Bhuiridh cloud was seen to ‘pour’ out of Coire Easain into the Cam Ghlinne (on the right) Ben Starav in the background.

Looking South-South-East towards the Bridge of Orchy hills – Beinn Doran in the centre.

Looking South-East, the cloud inversion clearing and the high clouds presaging change.
