Blustery Wintry Showers

10th February 2018

Overnight, snow showers fell mostly above 350 metres accompanied by strong Southerly winds. During the early part of today the freezing level rose to around 940 metres with intermittent snow showers, hail and or sleet above 700 metres so it was slightly milder than of late, the winds continued to be strong from a Southerly direction.

As you come towards Glen Coe from the West one of the first mountains you see is An-t -Sron note the black diagonal line up the middle right hand side ridge this is cause by strong Westerly winds scouring the exposed ridge transporting the snow to a more sheltered location.

Aonach Eagach ridge not so sparkly white today.

Buachaille Etive Mor seen from the road today.

Meall a Bhuiridh and Sron na Creise

Temperature today at 1100 metres

A brighter spell on Meall a Bhuiridh note the wind scouring the snow

Stob Coire nan Lochan looking very wintry
