Breakable crust

28th March 2018

(Above) Stob Coire nan Lochan. Some overnight snow showers and a re-freeze resulted in a widespread breakable crust from about 750m. Cloud and showers coming and going throughout the day around summit levels.

(Above) The breakable crust overlaid by localised shallow accumulations of slab – this on a NE aspect at 1100m reacting readily to load.

(Above) Showers threading through the ‘Coe” when I was coming off the hill – plenty of bright periods during the morning.
