Cold and windy with very light snow.

2nd March 2018

Water ice exists on many paths and watercourses at present in the Glen Coe area also the old snow cover is re-frozen giving a slick and unforgiving surface in the event of an uncontrolled fall.

Freezing hard at all levels, ice building up on Loch Achtriochtan, West Face Of Aonach Dubh (left) and An-t-Sron (right)

Windblown new snow is generally avoidable but where any depth has formed on steeper slopes it is weakly bonded to the underlying firm old snow.
