First day of SAIS forecasting for 2018/19 season.

Its good to be back.

It was dry and bright but felt cold in the fresh South Easterly winds, ice is forming on the hillsides and paths. Snow cover is very limited at present. Summit temperature was around minus 5 degrees Celsius. Snow is forecast for tonight and tomorrow afternoon.

Bidean nam Bian with the most snow around church Door buttress

Ice starting to form on the “Screen” on the West face of Aonach Dubh at around 450 metres.

Meall a Bhuiridh in the middle with Stob a’ Ghlais Choire & Creise on the right.
