Another Wild and Wintry Day.

10th March 2019

As the title suggests it was another wild and wintry day in Glen Coe today. Above about 400 metres snow fell throughout the day. The ski area tried to open but unfortunately had to close again due to the strong winds. However, winter conditions should be better than of late when the weather does finally calm down a bit.

Black Rock cottage this morning.

The view through the car windscreen while getting ready this morning. The carpark is at an altitude of the 360 metres, and at that level the precipitation was sleet.

There were a few keen folk who didn’t let the lack of up lift stop them. Here a pair of skiers skinning up the hill in some wild weather at an altitude of around 700 metres.

Sheeting cracks. The fresh windslab did not seem to be very stable.
